Creating Culturally Diverse Instructional Design - A case study from Jordan

Thursday August 17, 2017

Location: M3 Insurance

Speaker: Deb Laurel

Description:

What happened when accelerated learning design techniques were introduced to a culture only acquainted with lecture as a training methodology? The participants not only absorbed the adult learning principles, they applied them in wonderful new ways. This program will give you the opportunity to experience creative learning activities designed by Jordanian participants for teambuilding, communication, win/win negotiation, conflict management and gender violence. You will learn how the activities are being used to address current issues that impact Jordan - and leave with learning activities that you can use in your own programs

Objectives:

1.    discuss the cultural context within which the learning activities were designed;

2.    participate in five accelerated learning activities designed by Jordanians to affect cultural change;

3.   assess how they can use these learning activities in their own training programs; and

4.    report their key take away from the session.
