Presenters: Tina Nelson and Pat Hein

Pat Hein set out to be an astronomer and has a degree in Physics and began his career as a teacher. However, his love for people has driven him to bring his teaching experiences to interpersonal training. Most of his work focuses on DiSC, Crucial Conversations, and team performance for UW Medical Foundation, but he’s still a man of many hidden talents, so don’t be surprised if he bursts into song or just leaves you smiling as you learn from his expertise.

Tina Nelson has been a member of the American Girl Human Resources Talent Team for over 10 years. She finds it grounding and meaningful to be part of an organization whose mission – Celebrate Girls – inspires her and is close to her heart. In her role as Sr. Training Consultant, she has the special privilege of using her strengths regularly to enable others to be their best through self-awareness and interpersonal & leadership skill development.  As a certified Vital Smarts facilitator Tina has led over 30 formal Crucial Conversations events since 2013 and numerous individual and team coaching sessions.  Crucial Conversations skills have been transformational in her life personally & professionally and as a trainer the most rewarding facilitator experience that she’s ever had.  Beyond her professional roles, she is a wife of 15 years and a mother of 3 young girls.
